The recent and abrupt cancellation of the annual DC Tax Sales auction (aka The DC Property Tax Sale) on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 – see Judge Halts D.C. The DC Tax Sale Is Now Rescheduled for November 30, 2009

During the first week of October, DC Superior Court Judge Brook Hedge stated that DC’s Office of Tax and Revenue has “some discretion” in how it holds its tax sales and reversed an earlier injunction that resulted in the cancellation of  last September’s scheduled auction.  The new auction is scheduled for November 30, 2009.
